Biography

Cecilia, born in Voghera (IT) in 1993, began her dance studies at a young age
at Accademia Domenichino in Piacenza. At the age of 16 she moved to Vancouver (CA)
to deepen her classical ballet studies by attending the Goh Ballet. There she got awarded
as well as a contemporarv dancer and danced for the Vancouver Olympics.
In 2011 she was accepted into Codarts, Rotterdam Dance Academy and
began the educational program for the Bachelor in Contemporary Dance.
During those years she had the chance to develop and improve her personal skills
and qualities by digging into different dance styles and ways of working.
Throughout her time at Codarts, Cecilia had the privilege of interpreting works by
renowned choreographers such as Regina Van Berkel, Jan Martens, Club Guy and Roni,
Sjoerd Vreugdenhil, Samir Calixto, Nacho Duato, and Lonneke Van Leth.
Her performances took her across the Netherlands and internationally
to Toronto, Zurich, Siedlce, and Lucca.
In August 2014, Cecilia began a new chapter as an apprentice at Tanz Luzerner Theater
under the direction of Kathleen McNurney. Here, she danced creations by
the choreographers Fernando Melo, Sandra Marìn Garcia, Zoran Marković,
Cayetano Soto, La Fura dels Baus, Marco Rizzi, and Davidson Farias.
A highlight of her career was choreographing the solo piece "FIVE" for the evening
Dancemakers #6. She also collaborated with choreographer Nicole Seiler on the
community project "3FEETS," engaging performers of diverse ages and backgrounds
and organizing workshops in public schools.
In August 2015, Cecilia joined Tanztheater Staatstheater Braunschweig,
under the directorship of Gregor Zöllig, marking the beginning of a three-year path.
Here, she performed works by choreographers such as Guilherme Botelho, Henrietta Horn,
Reinhild Hoffmann, Tiago Manquinho, and Dominika Willinek.
Additionally, she co-led dance community projects, working with participants
ranging from six to 82 years old.
In 2018, Cecilia relocated her base to Berlin, transitioning into a freelance career.
She toured extensively throughout Germany, Portugal, and Italy, collaborating with
diverse artists and collectives, including Tiago Manquinho, Co/labs, performing:group,
Marco Rizzi, LUNAPARK e.V, and Dmytro Grynov.
Simultaneously, Cecilia expanded her horizons as a contemporary dance instructor,
catering to students of all ages and experience levels at institutions such as
Lot Theater, Hybrid Festival, Ig tanz Ost, Teatro Cafe'Müller and Tanzfabrik.
In 2024, she co-created a community project with Tanz mit e.V. in Schüttorf,
furthering her commitment to community engagement through dance.
Alongside her dance endeavors, Cecilia has diversified her skill set,
exploring acting, GYROTONIC® training, and drumset playing.
